Europa

Europa is one of Jupiter’s moons and is known for its smooth ice-covered surface, which is believed to overlie a subsurface ocean of liquid water. It is one of the largest of Jupiter’s moons and is considered one of the most promising places in the solar system to search for extraterrestrial life due to the potential for an oceanic environment that could support life. Europa’s surface features include ridges, cracks, and possible geysers that may indicate geological activity. The moon was discovered in 1610 by Galileo Galilei along with three other large moons of Jupiter, collectively known as the Galilean moons. Its unique characteristics, such as the thin atmosphere primarily composed of oxygen and the presence of a magnetic field, make Europa a significant object of interest for scientific study and exploration.
