Ouderschap

Ouderschap, or “parenthood” in English, refers to the state or condition of being a parent. It encompasses the responsibilities, roles, and experiences associated with raising and nurturing a child from infancy through adolescence and sometimes into adulthood. Parenthood involves providing emotional support, social guidance, education, and physical care for a child. It also includes making decisions that affect the child’s well-being, development, and opportunities in life. In addition to biological parents, the concept of parenthood can also extend to adoptive parents, step-parents, guardians, or other caregivers who fulfill parental roles. The experience of parenthood can vary greatly depending on cultural, social, and economic factors, as well as individual family dynamics.
