Empowerment

Empowerment is the process of gaining the confidence, authority, and power to make decisions and take actions that influence one’s life or the lives of others. It involves increasing the capacity of individuals or groups to make choices and transform those choices into desired actions and outcomes. Empowerment often seeks to enhance self-determination, self-efficacy, and participation in social, economic, and political processes. It can occur at various levels, including personal empowerment, which focuses on individual self-advocacy and growth, and community empowerment, which emphasizes collective action and social change.
